CHINA FISHERIES & SEAFOOD EXPO 2019

The China Seafood Expo in Qingdao has been a regular stop on the Close the Loop Packaging trade show calendar for the past five years, as the largest seafood show in the world visited by thousands of people every year.

As seafood is one of our biggest markets and a huge focus of our business, we love being able to display and communicate the wide variety of pouches, bags and rewinds that we’ve helped create with our packaging partners and customers.

Exploring the exhibitor stands from across the globe, we also got a change to see first hand the various packaging trends from whole fish and crustacea, through to convenience retail packs for consumers at home.

Visitors were looking for innovation and sustainable packaging alternatives, as there is a growing need for fisheries and seafood sellers alike to help the environment beyond the ethical sourcing of their product. We had our newest selection of recyclable and compostable bags on show, with our latest seafood innovation packaging bringing crowds of people onto the booth. With bright imagery, cooking technology functions, unique shapes, and specialised films that go beyond typical finishes, everyone was blown away!

We presented these ideas in the hope to inspire brand owners to be creative, expand their mind beyond the typical notions of packaging in the seafood market, and invest in viable packaging solutions for their products. We’re already excited for the new seafood packaging projects we have in store in the next year, and will be sharing even more innovation at the next China Seafood Expo in 2020!
