Most pouches are made of film layers that protect the soup product from oxygen, moisture, light, and even puncture. So in terms of product protection, pouches and tin cans are about the same. But an added benefit of using pouches is the customisation possibilities that metal packaging can’t achieve, in addition to the reduced packaging weight. Our pouches also have a range of options that allow convenient opening and pouring. 

Retort packaging is basically high-temperature cooking oven packaging. It allows sterilisation of the product in the packaging at time of manufacturing, and allows the product to remain shelf-stable without the need for refrigeration for extended periods of time (2+years). This type of packaging is commonly used for soups, sauces, and some ready-to-eat food products.
